I remember looking at one at a car lot in Fayetteville Tennessee in 1974 . it had a knock in the motor .. 2500 bucks .. I had thought for 30 years it was a 69 but eventually found out it had to have been a 70 cause it was grabber blue .. perhaps the reason I didn't buy it .. I don't like the 70 model ..

I'll bet you'd like a '70 a whole lot if you could snag it for $2500 now!!!

What a shame !!

I thought the exact same thing when I read that. I will never understand that mentality. I wouldn't even want a car I couldn't...or had no intention to...drive.

Well I understand the WHY because it's worth 100k or so. Imagine some yahoo in a riced out civic taking you out trying to race you? Or some minivan with the driver on their cellphone slamming into you?
For me personally if I can't drive it then why own it.

It was a poorly written summary. The owner restored one Boss that didn't have the original drivetrain. He became dissatisfied that he couldn't compete in the Thoroughbred class (of show), so he traded it for another partially restored Boss with the original drivetrain and finished the restoration.

He said he wants it as a museum piece, an example of what you received from the dealer when you bought it new.

I get it. Buy another one that isn't perfect for $20k and wail on that one.
