460/'69 Mustang

Has anyone out there dropped a 460 in a '69 Coupe. I've been thinking about starting that project, but I'd like to hear some input from someone who's already did it and can tell me what to expect. I have the C6 to go along with it.

it can be done but its` a nightmare .. if you already have the 460 then go to mustangs unlimited and get the headers and motor mounts and trans mount .. if you dont have a 460 put something else in it .. anything else !!!

I have a 67 with a 429 CJ & 4 speed which is actually worse. I actually did not think it was that bad. Just depends on the sequence that you go in & which kit you purchase. I have the crites kit & tubular automotive headers. If I wanted to use an auto, I personally would use a built up c4, just because its smaller, but a c 6 can be used. I'll post some pics if you like.

10 piece. Mine are 2-1/8" primary tubes into 3 1/2" collector. They are a pita, but for the most part easy to install, just have to go in the correct sequence.

Ford Powertrain makes a set of shorties. They look quite good, use ball/socket collectors.
