1970 Mustang 351C

Well it's winter so it looks like I'll be sitting in the garage with her a lot so I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some things...first of all I don't know much about cars,(mechanically) especially older ones so please be patient with me..heres what I wanted to do: new steering wheel, new shifter(automatic), and I was wondering I yall had any ideas on making it a more comfortable driver. I've looked at different steering wheels and shifters but I'm not sure if I have the stock transmission or how to check for compatible wheels and shifters...also not sure on the suspension...I think it's pretty nice but the woman never wants to ride in it because it's "old" and could "fall apart". She doesnt understand the 20k put in the car(engine, paint, body, exhaust, etc). It runs GREAT just needs a little TLC for it to be more comfortable. (was going to drag the car so that's why it isn't "comfy") so please help me out!

PS: the reason I don't know all the mods is because my dad did a lot of the work and he gave me the car(he is away on business so I can't ask him)

Is the suspension shot? Thats the only way I could really think of imrpoving passenger comfort. A thicker steering wheel might help a bit but I dont know about a new shifter. If anything most of the models out there are geared for racing and can be a pain in the ****.

Yeah I'm about to start college and can't afford to drag it(the wear and tear part) but I can sell some of the drag oriented stuff on it, tires, gears etc and try to buy better "driving" parts. I'm not sure if the suspension is shot, but you can feel EVERY bump and pebble..so it might be..

Sounds normal to me, stiff springs will cause this too.
