I have a 1969 Mach 1 that didn't come with any front seat belts when I bought the car. I purchased a used original deluxe set, with the two belts connected to one mounting spot, on ebay a week or so ago and they finally came it.

My question is which way do they get installed? I've attached a picture to show which belts I am referring to. You can see that there is a smaller and a longer strap, so I just really need to know which goes to the shoulder strap and which goes to the retractable lap belt? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The way I wore them was to use the longer one over the lap because the retractable belt doesnt come out very far. Not sure how correct that is, but it worked for me.
