I know since the movie Gone in 60 seconds came out everyone wants an eleanor. So many people are fixing up their 67 fastbacks and coupes to try to look like that. As a result it has led to many aftermarket products to be made for that year mustang. Also in the last few years theres been a custom mustang Boom, if you will. Theres been a huge increase in aftermarket parts available for 65-66 model mustang as well as the 67-68 model. But one model that seems to get left out is the 69-70 model. Foose did a 70 mustang but it seemed even he got stuck on what to do with it. And the XXX movie also try to do a 69 mustang and they messed up the front end. So i was wondering if anyone out there has any sites with aftermarket products for 69-70 stangs or pictures of customized 69-70 stangs and i dont mean Mach 1 and Boss replicas. I mean something similar to the fast forward fastback or eleanor. In other words something completely customized. Thanks in advanced, it will be a big help.

I am in the same boat ... I am very close to starting my 1969 restoration and it seems like ... you are very much on your own. My dream car ( and I walked away from it ) was a red Boss 429 3 years ago and now I will never be able to afford one because of the swelling of the market price.

So I found a 1969 mach 1 to build and with much help from JBA in so cal ... they are willing to help build it to be a monster car. However ... the body is still up in the air. I like the 1969 body pretty much as is ... I do want a Boss 429 hood scoop and I do want the lovers and wing in the rear.

The biggest disappointment is .. there is no billet grille for the 69/70 ... I would love to get one and now it seems to make that happen it would have to be completely custom made ... errrr $$$$$$

I have even considered West Coast Customs but no descision on my part yet.

I found a 69 recently on ebay with the shelby styled stripes which was OK looking.

Yes ... if there is any real specific information of 69 restorations; I am all eyes and ears to consider before I drop a single dime.

EST start of my project is March of 06.

Try National Parts Depot.
I don't remember them having much custom stuff, but they had loads of restoration stuff back when I had my '69 A body.

I have always felt that guys like me are a dying breed.
Anyone can make a Mach I or Boss clone...

I have a 69 Fastback, it has a built motor and mostly stock interior, but I drive the heck out of it and the amount of thumbs up and stares I get is amazing everytime it is on the road. And to me the car is just average because of my limited budget...

Anyway, the stock body is one great thing we have going for us, but custom parts is mostly up to you. I did the Autometer Dash gauge thingy and it looks great, soon a kickin stereo will be installed, and I'm not sure after that whats next.

I wish there was a billet grill available as well.

Paint it a nice bright color, make the motor back up the looks, and enjoy beating the crap out of the local ricers and chevy boys. Works for me anyway

Edit: Here are my pics, more comming this weekend...

whoa man nice car! i like what you did with the gauges I also have trouble finding aftermarket parts for our '73 it seems the aftermarket pays more attention to the earlier years.

Thanks Budders, I love the 71-73 MACH I's/Fastbacks but wouldn't buy one because of the parts problems. Its not just the lack of parts, but the cost of the ones available is outragous. But on the flip side, I own the car I always wanted as a kid, so I just put up with setbacks.

I think it is only natural that vendors will start making more parts for the 69-73 guys. Our Mustangs just kick too much butt to be ignored...

Yea ... we are a dying breed. Even in my ( estimate ) 50% restored condition ... I still get a lot of attention which is really cool. I love your car and the work you did on the speedo ... I love white face gages. I have spotted my replacement for that as well. The billet grille is the only thing I want extra. The color ... is a RED of somekind; I am looking to find the Indian Fire Red in person so I can see for myself. The other part I am having trouble deciding is wheels; but that will come

anyway off to make dinner

Personally,I think the 69 fastback is one of the best Mustang body styles ever . The addition of proper wheels and tires is just about all it needs from the outside. However,I did remove the grill emblem and the quarter emblems from my car. I have seen several with all chrome painted to match the body, not a bad look . But no matter what they will always turn heads! pics at www.1969boss429.com

Check here for my recent crappy video!
http://media.putfile.com/Mustang68

I plan on adding 4 wheel discs and 17" FR500 Chrome replica wheels next.

My car is Guards Red or Porsche red, too much orange in my opinion, next color will be a dark metallic marroon.

1969Boss429, you may have the greatest car ever! darn.....

1969 BOSS429. If you have any time I'd love to see a video of your car. I've never heard the exhaust note engine rumble of a 429 and sure would love to. If you can that would be awesome!!!!

I know they are $$$, but I don't like to go cheap on stuff like that.

Contact Baer and they will walk you through the ordering process based on what front spindles you have and what rear you are using(9 in probobly). Also, double check your wheel stud length for the wheels you are going to install.
