1968 Mustang Conv. With 2 Sets Of Tail Lights

I recently finished my last mustang project and started searching for another one. I found an unusual mustang in a barn and it has 2 sets of tail lights and i have no idea what they are for or how they got on the car? dealer option??

I have seen a 68 with two sets of tails too. Must ahve been a popular mod back in the day. But it is definnatly not an option or dealer option. Just somthing people did back then to be different.

I've seen that mod too. I don't think it's anything special.

Actually, back in the day. A popular "mod", but ain't what we called it then, was to take Cougar and/or T-Bird tail lights (64-66) and "make them fit" in the convex area. The T-Bird ones fill it up nicely from the gas cap right out to the fender chrome.

I put 67 Cougar taillights on a 76 Maverick v8 I used to have, along with the Cougars Magnum 500 wheels. Looked great.

That does look kinda cool. At first I thought you were talking about the Cougar tailight conversion.

I thought he meant only two on each side instead of the normal three. That would probably look kinda slick too. or at least a little different.
