A 390 GT with the 4 speed manual and a 3.25:1 rear end.
Also was the HP and torque ratings for the 390 of 320hp and 425ft/lbs accurate?
thank you

320hp and 427 ft-lbs was Ford's "rating".

Low 15's at 90-95 mph were typical 1/4 mile times.
0-60 depends more on driver & tires than the car.

Everyone seems to overlook the fact that horsepower was measured differently back in "the day". Back then, manufacturers ran an engine on a stand without power robbing accessories, and today they are required to run them as they appear in the car. I've heard that you can estimate a 30% difference between the two techniques.

This whole thing contributes to the legendary status of the Muscle Car Era.

Cloney prolly has a link handy to explain it all in detail. B)

Mark is right on. The only minor variation is that today the manufacturers can basically advertise/rate them however they please ... they only get into trouble when they overrate them. Ahhh the 1999 SVT Cobra

Do you guys have any idea how fast they ran straight from the factory?
Were there any magazine tests with them?

Thanks
