Wanted to share some pictures of a 1966 Coupe/Resto-Mod Project that Paul's Automotive Engineering has just about completed for an owner. Paul's Automotive Engineering is in Cincinnati and has been working on Mustangs for ~25 years , they have many other cool cars in the shop, but this one stood out. Paul's performs work on my car and my past Capri's . . great shop, and great people.

I had time to ask a little about the car:

1966 Coupe . .

'03 Cobra Crate Motor (currently putting out ~460hp, but additional tweaking will be complete before delivery, which should bring about ~500hp to the rear wheels)

A T5 IRS independent suspension developed in 1963 for the Falcon, but deemed too costly for production. Looks really cool and performs very well on this coupe!

TKO 5-Speed with '03 Cobra seats and the rear seat has been trimmed in cobra leather as well. The car also has a full integrated rollcage that has been fitted extremely well into the overall interior.

17x9.5 wheels with 265's up front and 285's out back

Hot Rod Magazine just finished shooting the car for an upcoming feature article. I told the owner of the shop I was going to be posting the pictures on our site and he could come check it out.

That is an awesome car. But you know, maybe it's just me but I'd have a whole lot more appreciation for it if it was a garage job, you know. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing that mustang treated like royalty, but really to me it's more rewarding to to do things hands on(but that's not the issue here I know)

I'm still drooling here though. My only gripe is I hate those anthracite bullitt wheels, they're everwhere. Don't believe me? Come to Florida sometime They really should have gone with some 03 stockers or aftemarket.

Or am I smoking drugs here? Are those 17" vintage 45's or ttD's? If so scratch my last gripe on the bullitts lol.

Everything is A+ on that machine. I think I would have stuck the '03 Cobra IRS under there though and put a little more flare on the fenders and quarters.

Have you seen the sn65 yet? Some dude is mating a 65fb shell to an 03 cobra chassis and it's lining up quite nicely. Drivetrain will be all stock 03 equipment not anything over the top like year one. You can check it out at stangnet in the classics. I think both these care are topping my favorite builds right now.

Looks like a 5 speed tremec.

The black on the stripe and hood is an epoxy primer. I ask how to keep it clean, and Paul said . . . Pledge!

I like how they contoured the lower rear valence to provide a better view of the rear suspension.

I wish I could have listened to the car, or course I didn’t ask either, so maybe I could have.

Amazing!

That is one of the better cars I've ever seen. As if it's not enough that it's got a great Trans-Am inpired look to it, but that Cobra driveline and IRS is beyond impressive. I bet that thing is a blast to drive.

At least, I hope someone is going to be driving this thing.
