Was at two friends' wedding last weekend, and this is what came to pick them up:
Sorry 'bout the flags but after all, this was a 'ceremonial' vehicle. The owner (man in pics) said that if it hadn't been a vert, he'd never bother to restore it.

Um no, that is fake wood grain contact shelf paper on what should be the wood grain dash kit. Sorry, I am just not impressed by this car at all. Even after you remove all those god awful things form it it's still quite ordinary, there has to be at least a million cars that look better. Classic or not you wouldn't catch me turning my head on this one if it drove by, I've seen nicer driving out of Macco.

I must respectfully disagree. While the trailer hitch and a few items are a trifle odd, I think the more restored-to-original early Mustangs, the better.
At the same time, restomod fans - love what y'all create too! There's room for both. I just have a soft spot for all-original.
I know this example here has some oddities to it, but it is still a '65 that is rolling, not rusting!

I'm a traditionalist, a stock man---and this Stang looks pretty good to me, regardless of whether in the USA or Sweden or where ever. Look at how straight the sides are, how even the lines are (OK the front cap is a little off), especially the door and trunk seams. That's outstanding body & sheet metal alignment work. I've seen MANY over here that looked a lot worse.
You're right, Drew--tough crowd.

I agree, Mike. This example probably would not win a class because of her peculiarities - but it doesn't look too far from being almost perfect.
I rode in a '57 Corvette convertible a few days ago. The owner is lovingly restoring as close to original as possible. Compared to modern vehicles, it is a shoddy piece of construction. No one would find the fit and finish of 1957 acceptable today.
But it has a charm all its' own. As I get older (46 now) the restored-to-original cars give me a clearer look to "back then".
