Ford Serves up 2020 Shelby GT500 Thrill Rides at SEMA 2019

By -

Ever-popular ‘Ford Out Front’ provides fans with unprecedented access to cool displays and amazing vehicle demos at the annual Vegas show.

SEMA never fails to fill our dockets with amazing rides, cool new parts, and plenty of fun extra curricular activities. And among all automotive manufacturers, Ford has long held a prominent spot outside the Las Vegas Convention Center – right in front. And they take full advantage of this massive space, serving up all kinds of cool interactive displays and activities for attendees to enjoy in an extravaganza they call Ford out Front. This year, that included one seriously amazing opportunity for Mustang fans.

It was there that could you see the new Mustang Shelby GT500 in action, with pro drifter Chelsea DeNofa behind the wheel. And even better, you had the opportunity to ride shotgun and take the ultimate thrill ride. As DeNofa fans (and regular readers of The Mustang Source) already know, this is way better than any roller coaster. Look up “send it” in the dictionary, and you’ll see this guy’s face. And as you can see, send it he did. Over and over again.

History at SEMA

The coolest thing about Ford out Front, however, might just be its history. You see, SEMA actually outgrew the Las Vegas Convention Center a whopping two decades ago. There were just far too many companies and display vehicles to contain within those walls. Ford used to display its wares in the Central Hall, but they had little space for parts, let alone vehicles. So they moved outside. But instead of just setting up a bunch of static displays, they decided to do something special with this new space.

Ford out Front contains the typical slew of parts and accessories, of course. Along with goodies from their partners Roush, RTR, Factory Five, and Vaughn Gittin Jr. But attendees can seek out autographs from and meet their favorite drivers, scope out awesome builds, and watch various vehicle demos. It’s truly an immersive experience. And even though SEMA is only open to folks in the automotive industry, the general public can attend Ford out Front and other outdoor activities.

As you can see from this incredible GT500 experience, that’s worth the early November trip to Vegas alone. Especially if you’re a Mustang fan, or just a Ford fan in general.
