Ford Mustang RTR vs Drift Spec Lamborghini Murcielago

Drifting has become its own entity. It has become a sentient being, willing things into existence and proving that no amount of horsepower is ever enough. There’s a spirit to the sport, one that will surely continue for years to come. However, today we aren’t here to talk about LS-powered drift cars or ridiculous plumes of smoke. We’re here to talk about the insanity that is the Monster Energy Drift team of Daigo Saito and Vaughn Gittin Jr.

The video production team over at Monster Energy got wind that Saito was building a monster out of a drift car made from a Lamborghini Murcielago that was wrecked years ago. It still had the same carbon tub. It still had the monstrous naturally aspirated V12. But everything inside the car has been stripped out and a manual transmission with hydraulic handbrake was added. And now, it is nothing short of amazing.

However, the Monster video team apparently didn’t think it would be enough, so they called Vaughn, who brought his Ford Mustang RTR drift car to play with Saito’s Lamborghini. Check it out in the video below. This is definitely one for the ages; it somehow makes Ken Block’s Gymkhana look amateur at best.
