Ford Is Making the Shelby GT350 Even Better
The work is never done. Everything and everyone, even the best of the best, can get better, and Ford isn’t about to let its impressive winning streak (this lineup >>>) get in the way of further development and improvement.
According to Ford’s November UAW Contract Summary, which was sorted through by Auto Evolution, Ford is planning to upgrade the 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 at the Romeo, Michigan plant. And elsewhere, they are working on three new transmissions as well. According to the “Product Commitment” section, there’s a new trans being built at the Livonia plant, one at the Sharonville plant, and one at the Van Dyke plant.
This is all part of a $9-BILLION, with a “B,” investment plan that Ford has laid out for the next four years for its plants.
For a quick reminder, the current GT350 V8 already makes a staggering 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque.
