Vaughn Gittin Jr. Hoons a Mustang Around Inner Mongolia
This year marks two rather special occasions: this is the first year that the Ford Mustang will be sold in Asia directly through Ford, and it’s also the end of the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac.
To celebrate both, Ford created the special video below, honoring both events in the best possible way: with smoking tires. Ford brought Formula D pro drifter and Mustang enthusiast Vaughn Gittin Jr. to Inner Mongolia and had him turn the city into his own personal track.
The city in question is actually called Ordos, and it was built out during one of China’s real-estate booms that never really amounted to anything. Thus, the city sits almost totally abandoned and becomes the perfect spot for Vaughn and his Mustang to kick the tires and light the fires. It’s a really cool video and definitely worth a watch.
