First Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang Sells for a Lot of Money
While Barrett-Jackson has become one of the premier locations for anyone to sell their classic or high-end auto, it’s also becoming the place at which manufacturers sell the first production car of a special line for charity. This past weekend, Ford kept that trend going.
It auctioned off an all-new Shelby GT350R Mustang – VIN #001 – to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading global organization in type 1 diabetes research.
The GT350R is, according to Ford, the company’s most track-capable Mustang ever and features a whole host of performance goodies that make all gearheads salivate. However, that drooling will stop once you hear the final gavel price.
Are you sitting down? Good. The GT350R sold for a cool $1 million. That’s a heck of a lot for a Mustang, but, thankfully. it all went to a good cause.
