HELP!!! -My V6 wont start after going back to stock

Just a heads up- I posted this in the main 2010 -2014 forum as well.

So Im just trying to get my car back to stock because its going into the shop and during the return to stock programming the process fails and now my car is stuck in the drive way and wont start. I called American muscle and spoke to someone at Bama. They said you have to call SCT and they will help you. SCT is closed now. Anyone have any suggestions other than unplugging the battery for 10 minutes At this point I cant even program it with the bama tunes.

Sorry, you are stuck like chuck...

SCT is the only answer, they will operate your computer remotely and straighten out your tuner error.

I ran into the same issue..

Long story short, my stock tune on the SCT Livewire had been corrupted some how. Luckily I had backed it up on my PC right after I tuned my car. SCT was able to manipulate that file so I could upload it to my Livewire, replacing the corrupt file. I was then able to return her back to stock and all was good.

Weill just as all of you guys said - I called and SCT and they remote controlled my computer and I was able to extract the stock tune file from the iTSX. They will repair the file and then email it back to me in about 45 minutes. He said not to worry and I should be fine. With the iTSX - all I will have to do is click on the emailed file they send me from my iPhone and then it will open in the iTSX app and automatically do the repair. I won't be home until about 5:30 which mean I will have 30 minutes to try the repair before SCT support closes for the weekend. I will post back tonight with results.

dball584,

I apologize for the inconvenience your experiencing with your device. I wish I could be more help, however this is definitely an issue with in the device.

I'm confident that SCT will get you taken care of very quickly! Downloading a recovery file on the iTSX is as easy as opening an email! If you need any further assistance after you update your firmware ect.. hit me up & well get you taken care of!

Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

It's still frustrating that customers buy the device from you (as well as the tune). Then AM doesn't know how to 'reboot' the device. This isn't the first time this has happened. But each time you pass the buck to SCT while your customer's car is down.

You need to step up and insist SCT allow you to get the customer's vehicle back on the road ASAP. Because apparently (from other posts) SCT is slow as hell.

So i was on hold with SCT for about 20 minutes before I got a person on the phone. They gave me some suggestions and nothing was working. Then they asked that I update the tuner. I plugged it in and the rep connected to my PC and started to guide the update. I asked him if this doesnt work then what the next step. He said ship them my tunner and my cars computer....... While its running the device update I get disconnect on the call and now he never calls me back and I call SCT again - Been on hold for 20 minutes and still no one has picked up. If anyone is out there that can help please IM..

Finally spoke with someone and basically I have to wait for the device to finish updating. Its been going since 5:45 and not even half done. They sent me a new recovery file and the plan is to wait all night for this to finish updating and then try the second recovery file with the new firmware. If this does not work they tell me to pull my car's computer out of the car and ship it to them for Monday and they should ship it back to be on Wednesday. I'm truley sorry I got mixed up with this tuner. Yes the results when it worked were AWESOME but this is regoddamndiddulous...
SCT is only there until 7pm and if this doesnt work then I have to wait until Mondat to call again (Wait on hold for 20 minutes) and then arrange to ship my cars computer!!

If I can return my car back to stock I can assure your I will try and return this device

I updated the device to the latest version then got a new recovery file. I get the file loaded into the iTSX and then Im prompted to return the car back to stock. I start the process and then it tells me to turn the key on. I do and then the screen stays the same with the Turn the key on message. It stays that way for a really really really long time. Almost and long as it take to get a person from SCT on the phone. Well guess what - STILL NOT WORKING.
Here is a sample of what I'm dealing with.

FU SCT!!! Our cars are totally dependent upon this computer crap and now SCT looks to be trying to compete with Bill Gates defective junk!

I'll never buy SCT as look as they are this problematic and knowlingly don't provide 24/7 access to fix file. Screw them!

That sucks!

Though I do have to say, with the exception of that one corrupt file, I haven't had any issues with my Livewire. I bought it in 2007 and have used it dozens of times sense.

Been up all night thinking about this whole issue with the tune

This is going to be a really long weekend. I can't talk to anyone at SCT until Monday. And American Muscle said only SCT can help me. At some point I'm guessing I will have to make a choice.

Do I take the car to the dealer and roll the dice of paying a small fortune to fix this issue and also cause me to void my warranty. Or do I spend some time figuring out how to remove the computer from the car, then make arrangements with SCT to ship it out to them and have SCT repair it.

I believe your computer is right under the hood, front passenger side.. very easy to remove. It's just the wait that is going to kill you.

After watching your video that same thing happened to a guy in my car club on his 11 5.0 this past week. Same exact error messages on the dash display and his SCT wouldn't download the stock tune. He ended up having it towed to the dealer for diagnosis. Dealership determined his ECU was toast and his warranty did not cover it. Ford put in a new ECU at his expense (little over $1k) and he had to send his SCT in to be unlocked because it never downloaded the stock file back to the old ECU. I will try and find out more details for you but this sounds like the same issue.

I have a rental car so I can do without the mustang for a few days. My back is killing me since the accident and now I have to strain it more trying to extract the CPU from the car. I may just call the dealer and bite the bullet.
