So it looks like it's only a matter of time we will be seeing Boss intake/CAI/Tune power packs from all the tuners. I'm glad I waited before I went Cai/Tune only.

^yeah... very true if you can swing the cash!
For many folks, picking up 40rwhp with a CAI and tune will still be a good bargain. I'd have to look a bit closer at the cost of the parts but I suspect that the bang/buck ratio drops off severely.
Plus, IIRC, the BOSS intake is really only superior to the stock intake in the very high ranges of the RPM band, no? If so, even if you had the cams to take advantage of this, aren't you looking at a new bottom end if you really want to enjoy this power more than once or twice through the 1/4 mile?
I can hear the connecting rods crying out in pain!!

I have to admit that I haven't been following the information about the BOSS all that closely but I seem to recall that it has a higher redline and internals to match.

Awesome power. I inquired about Comp Cams and was told by a Randal Schmidt in their engineering group they would have new cams ready for sale in late march. I want the hot rod idle in my car. It will be nice too see how they perform.

True- but it's not the power level but the RPM that I'm looking at...and the fact that the BOSS intake is optimized for the extreme high end of the RPM band.

So as i am waiting for my Boss to be built 3rd quarter...these threads are killing me!!! So what do you guys think the Boss with long tube headers, air filter, and 8,000 RPM is capable of? Also in a nother thread someone stated that the factory ecu has no code above 7800 for the GT...is the Boss ECU going to have tables to take it to 8,000??
