Hey guys. I hope you can help me with my problem.
My car was sitting for about a week and my battery died. That was kind of weird. But after I jumped it I’ve had problems with the driver’s side window. The auto up function will not work. Also, when the driver’s side door opens, the window goes down like it’s supposed to, but it does not go back up to fit under the lip. Does anybody know why this is happening? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the owners manual for re-calibrating the windows (I think you had to do something like hold the "up" button for 10 seconds, but don't remember off the top of my head)

Don't know where you're from, but if your car is parked for the winter the battery will go dead after a week, consider disconnecting the negative terminal or move it indoors.

Recalibrate the windows.
1)Hold down the window switch till the window goes to the bottom and keep holding it an extra 2 seconds.
2)Hold down the window switch till the window goes to the top and keep holding it an extra 2 seconds.
3)Hold down the window switch till the window goes to the bottom and keep holding it an extra 2 seconds.

My '07 Vert sits in the garage (non-heated) in the Chicago winter for 3-4 weeks between being started. My battery never goes dead during that time, and cranks as fast as during daily drives in the summer months.

I don't know if it helps any, but I do not lock the car in the garage, so the Active-Anti-Theft is not armed.

the battery should not go dead after a week of sitting. If its still under warranty take it in.

Do you have the active alarm system and is it armed when stored.I suspect you do and you are armed. This is why your battery is dead or low because when armed this creates a drain on the battery.

I just had this happen to me the other week: the car sat for two weeks, and was DEAD. However, I think it may have been from my plug and play XM unit that was left in the cig lighter (the unit was off, but the lighter adapter was left plugged in). I have left it in before without issues, but I think it is going bad, so I yanked the whole thing out.

But, I have also had a similar but different problem with the car after just sitting for cruise-ins, where it will start right away, but the clock on the radio has reset. Also, even though the radio presets didn't reset (I think they are stored in the radio somehow), the channel was on its default channel for reset. WEIRD.

And no, my active alarm was not set.

what power does the active alarm use other than a small red lite being on?? Even with the alarm on your battery should last for weeks with out going dead

just take it in for the TSB on the faulty alternator or the faulty battery. the alternators go bad occasionally and the batteries have bad cells occasionally both could contribute to your problem and both are covered under warranty

Your alarm has sonic motion sensors in the car that are armed with the system. They drain the battery HUGE over 2 weeks without starting.

1-2 weeks of not driving, in cold weather, with the Alarm armed... will drain it.
If I wasn't driving it for a couple weeks I'd lock the doors manually so that the motion sensors aren't armed.

Last year I used to start it every couple weeks.
That probably drained the battery more than it was charging it.

Also, when storing, you should also change the stereo to the radio rather than CD setting, as apparently occasionaly the player will rotate through the CDs while off... this too drains the battery

That being said... the battery that came in the car was replaced with a different/better model. The Mustang with Active Alarm is SUPPOSE to have a better battery than those without... but I don't think that happened.

Take it in... get it replaced.
But also take care of it.
If its sitting over the winter, remove the battery

Now that you mention that, I do remember that on the cruise-in nights, the CD player was on.

I have not noticed a TSB for the battery/alternator, but if there is one, that just adds to the Fill up and Irratic Fuel gauge TSB's that the car will be going in for. Hey, might as well collect them all, and just make one trip. I should have guessed that that would happen with the first year cars...it always does

No alarm, battery dead in less than 2 weeks.

My battery went dead too, but that was after the car was sitting for six months. I put a new battery in and everything was good.

As was mentioned the interior motion sensors are active when the system is armed and tht is your battery drain. The flashing light which is also part of the non acive alarm system is not the problem issue.

I put one of those battery maintainers on my Crown Vic and the maintainer got piping hot within 15 minutes. It was struggling to keep up with the standby current draw. I'm just going to start up the Stang once every few weeks and let it run. I know this is bad for the engine oil, but whatever.

I agree... Start her up every couple of weeks and let it runs for 20 minutes. It will keep the battery up, circulate the fluids and keep things good over prolonged storage. Also, make sure to add Stabil to the gas.
