Factory dimmer wire?

Bought a Crutchfield deck and harness and installed a few months ago. The auto dimmer feature on deck is not working, and I think I heard somewhere that the harness that you get for the install is great, but this wire is off. Does anyone know which wire the illumination wire from the deck should be connected to on facotry side of harness. I guess I could do process of elimination, but I thought somebody might have run into this before?

Its just the way the car is. The dimmer wire in the center stack is controlled by the SJB and doesn't put out a strong enough signal for aftermarket stereos to pick up. This is how it was explained to me. the crutchfield harness did not dim out either my Kenwood KDC-790 or my Pioneer Avic D3. Most have run wires to the headlight switch or maybe one of the LEDs that turn on when you hit the headlights.

If you can find a better way though trial and error, it would make alot of peoples lives a bit easier.

There is a write up in another forum about this also. The guy pulled the headlight switch out and tapped into the yellow/blue wire on the back of the headlight switch. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=75672 . Hope this helps.

The blue/yellow wire on the hazard flasher switch at the top of the center stack works and is easier to get to.

+1 on that. Its where I tapped into for my D3. Easier than the headlight switch.
