Best Supercharger Installer in SoCal?
I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a supercharger for my '05 GT. There is SO much conflicting information out there for California cars built before April 30, 2005. All I want is some straight info on what kit (and who can install it perfectly with no hangups) that gets me someplace around 425HP AND is CARB legal.
I live near the LA/OC county line but will take the car to anyone that can give me some good choices and do a reliable installation. Who do you guys recommend I check out? Any good or bad experiences would be appreciated!
TIA

Hello
Here are a few that I know of. I would call them both up for some pricing and your closest to one get a tour.
Do keep us posted on if and when you get the blower. Good luck!
I've heard nothing but good things here.

Or
I heard 1 bad thing about these guys
( through yelp though). But I talked to the owner and he seemed like a cool dude. The area is a little shady to say the least. But there were tons of cars there he even fired up his 700HP GT500.

Have you considered doing the install yourself as it seems like many people have done it in their garage with some simple hand tools.......it just takes a little bit of time and some patience as that is what I am told. I am going to purchase a SC at some point in time and do the install myself.
If you order from a vendor like JDM or Brenspeed.....these guys have tuned so many of these kits.....they can apparently send you an email tune that will do the job perfectly fine.

For your target I'd recommend the Roush M90. It's CARB, reliable, got that sweet whine, plenty of instant torque if you're into that. It's also easy to install, I installed mine in a week-end with part time help, just in case you change your mind about the install.

This is the one I'm leaning towards. I have spoken with a couple of shops that are recommending the Whipple but I'm still getting the "vagueness" about CARB approval for CA. I'd be happy with just an extra 100+ HP for the daily driver. My biggest challenge remains finding a shop that will install it for me without any hassles. Yeah, I could do it myself but, again, I wanna have it done right and with some kind of warranty if it doesn't work as intended.

Heard anything bad about galpin auto sports in woodland hills? Their shop does work for movies and that tv show pimp my ride. They are also a ford racing dealer. Frpp has whipple kits that are carb approved. There is the 400 hp non intercooler kit and the full kit with ic and making 550 hp. I have no idea what they would want labor wise to install one though.

You want a good reputable shop.....Try GTR High Performance In Rancho Cucamonga, CA. They are experts on superchargers and have done plenty of supercharger installs for many popular magazines.
Plus their customer service is second to none!!

Yep, and they are right next door to Kenne Bell.
Check that, couple of blocks away.

Greg at RET is excellent mechanic and he knows how to tune. Sounds like he's close to where you live this maybe your best choice. Greg's known to have tuned cars for GTR when they have issues. (2) In-house dyno's
GTR good at SC installs very nice guys to deal with. In-house dyno.
Eric Voss of Voss Performance in Fullerton excellent mechanic, very careful and considerate on your car. Uses an outside dyno vs in-house. Eric is an authorized ROUSH installer with years of experience. He is the only mechanic that works on my car.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. The contacts I've made so far have been more inclined to rebuild my car rather than just add a blower kit. Stay tuned for my final decision on how to proceed. It looks like I will be going with the Edelbrock E-Force...and...I may end up installing it myself!
Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.
