Face-palm: Engine Envy
This is a real conversation, between me and the missus, last night:
Me: "Blah blah...so the Coyote engine, and ..."
Wife: "Wait, 'Coyote' engine? That's cuuute, is that what they call it?"
Me:
"Yes, that's what it's called."
Wife: "Well, what is my V6 called? Is it something cuuute?"
Me: "Yes, it's called the "Duratech"
Wife: "Duratech? Why can't it be something cute?"
Me: "I don't know. Coyotes aren't cute."
Wife: "They are to me."
Me: "They're targets to me."
Wife: "I will call mine a Jackal."
Me: "Why don't you call it the Pup? A Pup is cuter than a Jackal."
Wife: "But Coyote is cuute and cool..."
Me:
You know, after 24 years of marriage, you'd think it would get boring.

Does anybody remember the code name of the 4.6L 3v? I can't remember right now. Seems like it was a place and not an animal.
The code word for the 13 Shelby engine is Trinity BTW. That's pretty awesome. Unless your Joe. Then it's a slap in the face.

Not saying that it wasn't. But one of the engine manufacturing plants is the Romeo plant. In Romeo Michigan. That may still be the name of the engine mind you, but more than likely it was just referring to where it was made.
I know this because I had an F150 that had a "Romeo" engine in it. I was looking into buying a replacement engine to rebuild with some go fast goodies in it and I had to make sure to get an engine built in the same plant (they have 2 plants apparently) so the computer would work correctly.
