The lady shopping cart driver
On the 7th I was in a sams club parking lot when a lady was pulling her over filled cart behind her. She smashed her cart into the drivers side fender of my mustang. I ran over and checked for damage as soon as she passed. I found some damage and ran over to her and asked her to come over and look. She said "oh no I did not hit your car". I was lifting the trunk lid right when she hit my car. I felt her hit the car. She asked me if I was sure the damage wasnt already there. I told her that I was sure. I mean I know every little nick on the car and it just got its first oil change 5 weeks ago.
Right now im dealing with her insurance and they suck. They keep sending me back and forth from home owners to auto and then back to home owners. I finally got some lady to do the claim in auto and went to my local ford dealer which is the shop they prefer. While getting everything they wanted the agent told me they were not going to honor the claim and that it was filed in error. Now I am back on the phone going back and forth again.
Its very minor damage but it is not something I can live with. I have a police report and her saying she did it on the report. The company is sentinel. As I said before.. they suck!

Now lets be nice.......It was a lady after all.........The proper thing to do is..........Force her down to the ground and rub her face into the asphalt for around 5 minutes. That mark on your car looks pretty bad.

Yeah, that definitely needs to be fixed. I would want it fixed on any car I've owned. It's amazing how ignorant people are. I know people make mistakes but I am extra careful around other people's vehicles for the very reason that if it were mine I would want them to do the same.
Btw, is that 3m paint protection film on the fender or just a line. If it is the film, don't forget that on your claim as the body shop will need to remove it to paint the fender.

I'm extra careful around cars as well, because I'm a car guy...unfortunately, it seems as though people around here couldnt care any less about cars, and other people's possessions

The first thing I'd do is apologize for the misunderstanding. Then I'd politely assist her in emptying her cart. Then I'd graciously offer to return her cart to the corral. Then, just as I was walking away, I'd pause, look her car over and ask "Are you sure that wasn't already there?" then slam the cart into her driver's side fender, flip her the bird and walk away.

I got a call tuesday from the lady say that her insurance company told to pay it out of pocket. They told her it would be cheaper that way. I will be running around getting quotes friday morning. I already know the fender will have to be removed and that I will need a rental car or 3 or so days. I am thinking $600 plus for this little job. I she is in for a shock.

Temporarily eat the deductible.
Let them sue her.

I ran around today and got some quotes on the damage. The first was for $640 and the 2nd was for $1013. Thats to take the fender off repaint it and to put it back on and apply more 3m stuff. That doesnt include my rental car.

Hey bud, sorry about your issues with insurance. Do you have any updates?
I do take my car to Costco every so often, BUT I park so far away from the store, it takes me 10 minutes to get to the entrance. Plus, I ALWAYS park the car using gravity as my friend, meaning I park uphill, so carts (either being used or moving on their own) can only go downhill for most part). So far no issues!

I was at a Sams Club not too long ago. Since I live by the border a bunch of people from Mexico love to come over and shop, and while they're at it pollute the roadways with terrible driving, let their children run around screaming, and leave shopping carts against cars. As my brother and I were walking back to the car I saw some man from Mexico leave a cart just right against my car, gently at least. I went over and grabbed the cart(since I was only a few cars away from my spot) while my brother said something to him about leaving it there(which he then denied). So I walked over to his Explorer with the cart, let it go and gently glided it into his bumper. They don't have insurance, or licenses for the most part so if somehow your vehicle gets damaged by someone from Mexico, there's NO way you can make a claim against them unless they stop and wait to fill a report, which they won't.

So.... I waited 1 week past the new year to finish the deal on this car. I called the lady and she changed her number. I then called the police station and spoke with the cop that took the report. The nice officer told me it was now a civil matter. I looked her home address up and was only able to find her old phone number. I am going to write a nice letter up and mail it to her certified mail.
I think I am just going to sell this car and move on.
