well guys looks like i got the job that i have been chasing! got some money coming in so its time to build my cobra to where i want it. what tips on parts and assembly do you guys have?

The trans build is not bad. It takes a few special tools to tear it down and reassemble is all. I'm sure you can get your hands on them. 800hp is gonna be a little tougher. Lol

 

I'm debating waiting to buy a new 5.8 engine and trans and dropping it in my car. Think its doable?

 

You would actually buy a new 5.8 for your car? That doesn't make any sense Bone. Might as well upgrade to a terminator or gt500.

I was wanting 750 Ish HP. With the current 5.8 all I would need is a pully and I'm there. Just was a thought. Might be a bad idea but would make a great write up

 

5.8 is not an svt motor?

 

4.6dohc alluminator will handle that kinda power also.

Right but I would have to build it for it and the clutch would have to be stout on the foot. The new 5.8 is close to that power and will be less likely to break under load because its designed for the power. Plus the clutch in that car is still bearable.

Still was just an idea. I thought it would be neat.. I was originally thinking a 5.4 mammoth blower.

But I'm not selling the car so the value is not a figure in my head. I want this to be a car I can whip everyone with and then hand down...

seen a gt500 vert for sale down the road with that mammoth blower on it. sounded mean. guy wanted 43k for it. just buy that.
