“Eat That LS,” Says a Super-Quick Coyote Mustang
The Coyote V8 engine is one of Ford’s crowning achievements — a glorious piece of engineering, which continues to show that it’s far more reliable than any of the modern LT1 and LT4 engines currently in Chevy’s stable. However, we’re still a little surprised by the video below.
First off, what you are looking at is just a lightly modified Coyote-powered Mustang GT. All it really has are bolt-ons, E85 fuel, and the deft gear-banging of Wayne Scooter, its owner. Okay, it also has skinny tires up front, drag radials in the back, and a nasty sounding exhaust. But that’s it. And yet somehow the driver of this crazy little Mustang was able to shift fast enough to get the car into the ten-second range at the drag strip.
It’s impressive to say the least, especially when you consider that the Super Cobra Jets only go a single second faster, and they’re purpose-built drag cars, while this is still a street hooligan. Check it out.
