Battle of the Fords: Mustang V8 Versus Focus RS
What happens when you pit a souped up little hot hatch against some quintessential American muscle?
Top Gear hosts Tom Ford and Ollie Marriage got it in their heads to have a little drag race between the Ford Focus RS and the Ford Mustang V8. On paper, both cars boast near identical 0-62 mph times. The Focus RS does it in 4.7 seconds and the Mustang in 4.8 seconds. But how will that translate to the quarter-mile?
The Mustang has the power figures advantage, as it puts out 95 hp more than the little Focus RS. However, the Mustang is heavier. Will that prove to be the pony’s demise?
