Boss 302 Takes On New Shelby GT350 for Best Everyday Driver Honors

Pitting a Mustang Boss 302 against the new Shelby GT350 seems a lot like a title fight between an outgoing heavyweight champion and a new contender.

There’s a part of you that longs to see the former champ hold on to past glory. Then there’s another side of you that really wants to see the youngster take its turn in the spotlight.

But apparently, the match-up between the new Shelby and the Boss 302 is more entertaining than you’d be inclined to think, according to Road and Track. Because although the GT350 clearly beat the Boss in the mag’s Performance Car of the Year (PCOTY) comparison, R&T was still inclined to see how the elder Mustang fared against the newer model in an extended Everyday Driver test.
