Boost Works Mustang Says ‘Hellcat Who?’
We all know that the new Mustang is a hell of a car. Good looking, makes great sounds, rips killer burnouts, and it’s fancy new LSD makes it one of the most track capable Mustangs ever produced for the mass market. However, in the face of overwhelming horsepower from the likes of the Hellcat Challenger and Charger (as well as what Chevy will inevitably come out with for the ZL1), the Mustang is definitely the dark horse, pardon the pun, of the bunch.
The new Mustang just doesn’t have the same get up and go like the others do, until now. Thanks to some help from Boost Works, you can now get a 3.2L Kenne Bell supercharger for the S550 Mustang that’s rated up to 1,200 horsepower. Hellcat who? According to the shop, their prototype, with the boost only cranked up to around 660 wheel horsepower, is already running low 10s through the quarter mile. That in itself is already faster than the Hellcat is with drag radials.
The shop is officially dubbing this package as the 850hp H.O. Supercharger Package and you get the aforementioned supercharger, a high capacity Mammoth Inlet, a new lower manifold and high capacity intercooler core, a new heat exchanger, billet oil pump gears, billet timing chain sprocket, billet oval throttle body, 4.5in cold air intake, new injectors, ECU tune, and a few other things thrown in for good measure. All of this will only cost you $7,599, which is a screaming deal.
