New 2021 Roush F-150 Supercharger Adds a Whopping 305 HP
The brand new 2021 Roush F-150 supercharger kit completely overhauls the old design for superior performance.
Many Ford Mustang owners of the world also happen to have a Ford F-150 in their garage, for obvious reasons – this duo might just be the perfect automotive pairing out there, giving owners the performance drive they crave and a practical, utilitarian vehicle as well. But that doesn’t mean we can’t also make our pickups a bit more fun to drive, and now, a familiar name has just released a pretty cool way to do that in the form of the 2021 Roush F-150 supercharger kit.
The all-new 2021 Roush F-150 supercharger kit fits the 14th-gen F-150 – or 2021-2022 model year pickups – equipped with Ford’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8. It’s a completely redesigned piece, in spite of its familiar looks, ditching the old Eaton unit for a R2650 TVS, which is a roots-type positive-displacement supercharger with four-lobe rotors and 170 degrees of twist, oversized bearings, thicker timing gears, and a custom high-efficiency aluminum intercooler.
The supercharger kit also comes with a new low-temperature radiator that’s twice the size of its predecessor with a 107% larger surface area, as well as a newly-designed billet aluminum viscous crankshaft damper, unique spark plugs, and Roush’s own calibration. The tune is optimized for 93-octane fuel, but is also capable of running on 91 if that’s all that’s available in your particular area. Even better, it also removes the auto start/stop feature that many people hate.
All of this work has resulted in some seriously impressive results on the dyno – Roush’s new 2021 F-150 supercharger kit laid down 705 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque, which are incredible gains of 305 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque over stock. That’s more than enough to transform a regular old pickup into a pretty quick hot rod, for when you need a bit of passing power on the way to the hardware store, of course.
Roush also gives its new unit a 3-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty, so long as it’s installed by a dealer or Automotive Service Excellence-certified technician. The cost for all this goodness comes in at $8,749.99, which seems reasonable given the enormous amount of power it extracts from Ford’s modern V8.
