Herd of Mustangs Ready to Rock Carlisle Winter AutoFest
Over 200 of Ford’s finest stallions (and one P-51 Mustang) will gather for the 23rd annual ‘Mustangs & Mustangs’ happening.
Winter for a lot of us means tucking our Mustang darlings away in the garage, getting it ready for the spring and summer to come. We spend that time pining away for those warm, sunny days in between parts runs to get (and keep) our ponies in top shape.
In Florida, it’s another story. The sun always shines bright, and the ocean breezes are salty and warm. Thus, it’s the perfect playground for Mustangs to play. And play they will, when 200 ponies pull up to the Sun ‘n Fun Expo in Lakeland for the 2020 edition of Carlisle Winter AutoFest.
The Mustangs, like this orange Boss 302, will have their own corral with plenty of hitching posts to go around Saturday, February 22. Their owners will then celebrate all things Mustang at the 23rd annual “Mustangs & Mustangs… Legends Havin’ Fun” extravaganza.
Hosted by Imperial Mustangs of Polk County, Florida, the “Mustangs & Mustangs” show welcomes all ponies and all Fords of all ages.
Once parked, owners can enjoy local DJS spinning hits from the Fifties, Sixties, Seventies, and the Eighties.
They can also have their picture taken with a P-51 Mustang, one of the legendary fighter planes of WWII.
Additionally, those who register their rides for “Mustangs & Mustangs” will also have access to the entire Carlisle Winter AutoFest celebration, scheduled for February 21 through 23.
As with any car show, there are trophies to be had at “Mustangs & Mustangs.”
Those who pre-register their 1964 through 2018 ponies by February 10 will have their horses judged by the organizers. Those with 2019 and 2020 cars, whether they pay by the deadline or at the gate, will be decided by all attending “Mustangs & Mustangs.”
The first 200 who do pre-register will also receive a show plaque to place on their Mustangs’ dashes. The pre-registration fee is $40.
Those who opt to register at the gate can do so for $45. Either way, registration covers one adult and one passenger 12 and over. Children under 12 enter free.
And of course, Carlisle Winter AutoFest has plenty offer, including a 400-plus lot auction, another car corral filled with more than a few Mustangs, a flea market, and a special 50th anniversary celebration for the cars of 1970.
All in all, the fun never stops when it comes to Mustangs.
