Mustang Revs up Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels Expansion

Fans of the wild 2014 SEMA show car can now take the wheel via Forza.

Remember that insane, heavily modified 2005 Hot Wheels-inspired Mustang from the 2014 SEMA Show? Well, it’s set to make another grand entrance, in a different world frequented by car fanatics.

Except in this case, fans will actually have a chance to drive the beefed-up Mustang. And through some pretty wild twists and turns, at that. Well, in the virtual sense, at least.

The tricked-out ‘Stang, built by Action Vehicle Engineering (AVE), is now being featured in the new expansion for the Forza Horizon 3 video game. And of course it’s got the Hot Wheels banner, as highlighted in a report by The Ford Authority. Judging from the brief look at the racing setup in the preview video above, the SEMA show car will likely be an even bigger hit on the special Hot Wheels track.

The game also features plenty of other hot rides. But we’re pretty sure most gamers who hang out here at The Mustang Source will be opting for the Ford pony car when the Hot Wheels expansion for Forza Horizon 3 is released to the public on May 9.

The layout for the Hot Wheels expansion track includes “loops, corkscrews… boost pads, high-bank turns, half-pipes, insane jumps, and even giant mechanical dinosaurs,” according to the press release.

That said, for the non-gamers who just like drooling over the AVE Mustang’s unique features — like those mega fender flares, carbon-fiber accents, and massive chin spoiler — you might want to revisit some of the images from the car when it was on display at SEMA, as featured in the gallery below.
