’66 Mustang Coupe Showcases Best of Maier Racing
When it comes to unique, classic Mustangs, this ’66 coupe might be one of the most impressive you’ll ever come across.
The car, owned by Mike Maier, is a prime example of why his small company, Maier Racing, has earned so much respect among the industry’s tastemakers. People like Mike Musto, host of /Drive’s Big Muscle web series, as highlighted in the video below.
“Not only is Mike one of the nicest guys in the hobby, but he’s a true enthusiast that cares about one thing, winning,” says Musto. “Everything Maier Racing builds is about winning. It’s about doing it right.”
The ’66 Mustang, equipped with a 302 with about 300 horsepower, features a host of special features, including a trunk mounted suspension system that substantially improves the ride and handling of the car.
For Maier, it’s a pretty simple formula developed from 70 years of racing experience passed down from his dad and a dedication to building specialty parts in-house. “Do whatever you do good, and if you do something good and it’s worth attention, it’ll bring it,” says Maier.
Words to live by, in Mustangs, and in life.
