European Debut at Le Mans

The Ford Mustang GTD made a spectacular European debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, highlighting its advanced features and track-ready design. Ahead of opening order applications in Europe, Ford revealed the interior of this supercar, giving enthusiasts a closer look at what the GTD has to offer. This debut showcased the car's potential to deliver over 800 horsepower from its 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, aiming for a sub-7-minute lap time around the Nürburgring.

Vibrant Color Options

The GTD offers a palette of six standard exterior colors, ensuring that owners can personalize their supercar. The colors include Chroma Flame, Polymimetic Gray, Race Red, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Lightning Blue. Notably, the Chroma Flame is an exclusive new burgundy shade. Ford hinted that additional colors might be available in the future, but this remains unconfirmed.

Exposed Carbon Fiber in Carbon Series

The Carbon Series option enhances the GTD’s racecar aesthetics by leaving the hood, roof, and rear deck unpainted, exposing the intricate carbon fiber weave. This meticulous alignment of the weave adds a unique touch, although it comes with a higher cost. Additionally, this series includes options for racing stripes and Magnetite-finished wheels. The brake calipers can be customized in Grabber Blue, Race Red, or Black, further emphasizing the car’s bespoke nature.

High-Performance Features in Performance Package

The Performance Package equips the GTD with functional aerodynamic enhancements, such as front canards, a larger splitter, underbody flaps, and a rear wing with drag reduction system (DRS). The package also features magnesium wheels, available only with this upgrade, and reduces sound deadening to improve performance. These modifications are designed to optimize the car's capabilities, especially for its attempt to break the 7-minute barrier at the Nürburgring.

Luxurious and Functional Interior

Inside, the GTD's cockpit combines luxury and functionality. It features a flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped in leather, Dinamica suede, and carbon fiber, with GTD-specific buttons for adjusting suspension stiffness and exhaust volume. The center console includes 3D-printed titanium shifters and a titanium rotary gear selector.

Ready for the Track

The cabin is equipped with Recaro seats and a new Performance cluster that centralizes the tachometer and displays essential track information, ensuring drivers have everything they need at their fingertips.

Availability and Application Process

European customers eager to own a Mustang GTD can apply starting June 13 at 1 p.m. CET via TheMustangGTD.com. As this supercar is priced at over $300,000, demand is expected to be high, and potential buyers are encouraged to apply promptly. The GTD’s reveal at Le Mans not only showcased its impressive specs and features but also set the stage for its anticipated success on both the road and track.
