Turn downs

I know the side exhausts supposedly don't increase the flow. So. Has anyone or does someone make a kit to make the boss side exit only with no rear tails? Seems like it would be nice to have some tire warmers on it.

I don't know about turndowns... but the side pipes don't increase flow? Where are you hearing that?

With restrictor plates removed they do.

You would have to custom fab dumps as no one really makes a kit for them.

I can't tell you for sure where I read it. I was researching if the exhaust flows with and without the plates. I read that the side exits are more like resonators and don't bring exaust pressure down.

After getting a good look, the pipe itself in front of the tires is quite small. It would probably be beastly if those were swapped out for 2 or 3 inch pipes.

It is a bit small, but it does flow. Kooks makes a bigger sidepipe setup, I just wish the tips weren't visible on them. I kinda like the stealthy sidepipe thing.

I don't know if we're still talking about the performance changes with the Boss side pipes, but I have some dyno numbers from my car you may find interesting. It's a 14 GT with the Boss exhaust, GT500 ABs and the GT TracKey. Numbers are max torque/max hp. I used the same dyno like 6 months apart.

1. Stock: 344/364
2. Exhaust with stock calibration: 330/369
3. Exhaust with TracKey calibration: 350/394

On 3, the max number may be a slight overestimate, as the dyno sheet indicates slight wheel spin. So maybe subtract 5 lb-ft?

What I see though is stock for stock, the exhaust made minimal torque loss and minimal HP gain.

The sound, however, while not ear splitting, is extremely satisfying.
