2005 Mustang Driver's Seat Track Assembly
My driver's seat track assembly needs to be replaced. It is crazy that one little motor cannot be replaced and you need the whole assembly. I have been all over the net and made numerous calls to salvage yards. Why does it seem that no one carries a used seat track assembly for this car? The only one I have found is $670. It would seem to me by now that there should be some sitting around in a boneyard somewhere. There seems to be every other year available out there except for these years. Is there another year track assembly that would work? I have not seen anything for 2005-2009.

Yeah, pretty crazy. I just went through this. My back and forth motor went out. I looked into drilling out the rivets on the motor and trying to install a new one but said eff it. I bought some Corbeau seats instead and put the driver seat in the car. It's a manual rack but I only ever really move the seat when I'm working under the dash or something. Since you have to buy them in pairs I turned the passenger seat into a desk chair.

I would guess that anything from a 2005-2014 would work. Same seats, I think, in that the covers will swap out, and they'll all bolt in the same places... only cosmetics involved with those. So you could expand your search at the yards to include any S197 they got, I imagine.
Of course, one could always be wrong...
