Jealous of new Camaro Convertible features
The new Camaro convertible will have a fully automatic top with a hard tonneau, remote open of the top, and you can put it up or down at up to 30 MPH.
Hey Ford, you need to get your engineering team on these!

It's like the old days, each new iteration of one pushes the envelope and makes the other fight back.
This is a great time to be a pony car enthusiast. I wish I could justify owning one of each.

I doubt they sell enough ragtops to matter much. My recent experience with GM is they seem a lot better b/4 you own them. This includes the '12 SS Camaro I traded on my S-550 and a Vette.

it may be a "nice" feature but I look at it from the "what if it breaks down in the open position or partly open/closed position" view, its nice to see innovation but I like having a good manual back up if I am going to go rag top

200 pound weight loss is substantial. Ford needs to take weight off the GT. It also makes sense now why GM is offering 0% for 72 months on the Camaro, guess the lots need to be cleaned out.

I'd wait and see how things shake out with a fully loaded F6 car before putting to much stock in what GM is saying. I suspect the next gen Camaro will weigh around the same as the Mustang. The ATS-V is essentially the more expensive cousin to the Camaro and base curb weight is 3700 pounds.
That's a car with enough price difference that Cadillac can afford more expensive weight reduction strategies compared to its Chevrolet branded sibling.

And given Chevy's recall track record, I wouldn't trust even more things that could fail.

The only way I could see myself in a Camaro, would be if it were a vert. otherwise, the car feels like a tank. and has the worst blindspots, ever.
I LOVE back and forth bantering between the bigboys. it means they will keep trying their best to hold onto their valued customers and keep giving us new and cool features in these cars.
Perfect example. 2010 to 2011 mustangs!

Sounds like solutions to problems that don't exist. I can't see the need for operating my top while in motion, let alone 30 mph. The remote function is unnecessary to me as well. There's just something very gratifying about sitting in my Mustang while opening my roof with a bit old **** eating grin on my face.

As for operating the top while moving, there were a number of times with my 2005 vert that it would have been nice to be able to move while operating the top. Like if you decide at a stop light to put the top up or down and the light isn't as long as you thought.
