Vinyl wrapped + painted interior '14 GT
Hello guys and girls,
Joe here again. I finally had a weekend to myself so I decided: what the hell, I'll wrap my interior. I purchased a roll of vinyl from a store in as close to grabber blue as possible. The length was 14"X 48". I managed to wrap my steering wheel spokes, as well as my radio bezel. I also painted the chrome surrounds of my gauge cluster, and painted the air vents and lock pockets on the doors.
Wrapping would have been too involved and I was low on funds at the time.
I always said I wouldn't paint, because it's too permanent.
But it came out nice. I'll post more pictures when I get home from work.
The paint is slightly lighter shade than the vinyl, so I might actually just take it to a place to get it all wrapped.
The steering wheel spokes came out pretty wrinkly as it was my first time wrapping, but I had a second pair of hands for the radio bezel which is better.
I'll keep updating this with pictures and keep you all in the loop.
Regards,
Joe

Did you use a heatgun? You need to go slower and use heat to stretch it. I'd definitely redo that before putting it in the car. But it *will* look good if you redo it!

Thanks Pony! That's what I like to hear! I still wanted it to be somewhat tasteful and eye-catching, but not gaudy.
I want the inside to be eye-catching, just like the outside is!
I might do a how-to video if/when I re-wrap anything.

My friend has the grabber blue with white accents.
We painted his vents, gauge rings and lock pockets white last week and it looks incredible.
I was quite jealous of it!

hey guys lets compliment a poorly done job that looks bad?
I'm really looking forward to seeing this project done in a way that doesn't look bad. Is that better?
It's a great idea, but if it's half baked and has a ton of imperfections, why do it and post it?
the spokes look aweful, the center stack bezel has all sorts of bad cuts and not curing. the gauge rings would be cool but I see imperfections on those too. Sorry for voicing my opinion, but when I do stuff I don't leave it in a state of half-done.
To the OP: This would/will look badass if you can do this w/out imperfections.
