hmm... thanks man I really appreciate you taking the time out to do it...
are you over all happy with it?
I'm now not too sure I like the fact that it can't open more...
I'm okay with the amount it opens for me, that is 8" is more than enough to make me happy... what I'm am worried about is it looking stupid, as though it were broken or something....
Also I assume they put the switch between the two map lights? I dont wanna ask for more pics but how did it come out? looks good? not too after market/tacked on?

yeah. Overall I am happy. Do I wish it opened up more? yes. Is it better than no sunroof? yes, a lot better.
the top slider was another option, but I don;t like the way it looks and for some reason I don't trust those things. I can see them shattering or getting stuck. that's just me though.
yes, switch went in between the two map lights. The install was clean, almost OEM. Almost because the extra gasket on top makes it obvious it's not OEM (but that's for people who know what to look for). As far as it looking stupid, I wouldn't worry about it. from inside you won;t really notice and not many people will notice from the outside.

My prelude has the pop out and I feel like the noise is much more as well as a result. you said the opening was about 8" right? i guess thats not so bad, when I get home I'm going to measure my girlfriend's genesis coupe... its also a very small rooflined car... with an inboard (factory though) roof.

Mine is getting chopped up now..
I asked them to move it forward a bit if possible to get more opening space but it doesn't matter where they place it, the roof itself is only designed to open as far as it does. (about 8")
So They are ultimately going to leave it where the template says to.
Hopefully get it back tomorrow at some point. They say thursday morning at the latest... at this rate who knows though.
The shop knows what they're doing i'm very confident in their work having seen a few cars done by them now.
But when i went to drop it off it looked like a nissan dealership threw up on their parking lot.
Altima's everywhere waiting to have leather put in.
will report back soon...

Yeap!
Been really busy this week with classes/work..
I wont have a chance to take pics just yet but it looks exactly like yours.
I really do wish it opened more... but I'm told that even if I got the pop out one i would have only gotten about an inch more of opening.
Its more than enough though to let the sun in and I'm ultimately happy with it given the limitations of the roof size. Would definitely do it again.
The one thing I'm not happy with is the gap I have between the rear glass and the headliner.
You think u could take a pic of where your headliner meets the rear glass? I'd like to see how your installer was able to keep it up.
The gap exists on mine due to the factory mounting points of the factory headliner... doesn't allow for support in the center so he built it in a way where there as a .75 inch uniform gap between the rear glass and the headliner.
You cannot see it unless you really look for it... 99.9% of people would probably not even notice it.
Still, it irritates me.. so need help seeing if u have the same thing, cuz if not, perhaps I can call your installer and see what he did to get rid of it.

hmmm. now I have to look back there. what he did was there was a drop in the headliner and then the headliner went back up and back. don't think there is a gap, but have to look. if you looked at the back of the headliner from the side it looks like there is a step up. the shop said it is a "floating headliner" whatever that means.

I don't have a gap in the back where the headliner meets the back glass. there is a "step up" in the headliner as it moves back past the front seats. the headliner material is stretched a bit there so you don't actually see the step up. you do feel it if you press on the material.
I guess this is what they meant by floating headliner. I would take a pic but you won't actually see what I'm talking about.

I realize this is an old thread. Had the Signature powered, inbuilt moonroof installed into my 2005 GT (currently under 19k miles!) during the summer of 2011 - love it! Had a spoiler (up and over) powered moonroof installed on my previous '98 GT. The 2015 'stang is starting to really make an impression on me - is anyone aware if a similar moonroof is available for the new generation?

Sunroofs are so dumb. All they do is let hot sun in the car, and make too much noise when open. Then they start leaking or coming lose and make a bunch of wind noise. I had a sunroof in my 2001 ZX2 and in my 2006 Elantra. Both overrated and a waste. Good thing I didn't buy them new
