I'm upset to see Sterling Grey come back. I was hoping to have a limited run color. Not anymore but given the response I got last weekend at the huge Cruisin OC event people love the Sterling Grey color on a Mustang. It might be a good move for Ford to increase sales.

If I had been able to choose Sterling Grey when I ordered I think it would have been a tougher decision for me between lava and sterling.... But... It wasn't so no contest. :-)

Agreed the SG was my first choice last year, but then some things came up and I needed to hold of ordering, I'm glad I did b/c I love the Lava Red!

Good luck! I really hope you get what you want... Have you contacted Deysha to confirm your order, etc? If not, I definitely recommend that you do. She's a godsend!

+1, best of luck.

Send Deysha a PM with your dealer number (should be something like F12345) and your order number. She's only about 1000 times more responsive than my dealer. She just rocks!

So if this is true my mustang that was ordered on 4/30 and not even been scheduled is going to be lacking my Kona blue paint I want? Stopped at dealer today and he said he has not been informed of any such paint issue yet.

The info I have was from her and I got it earlier this week.
Unless she can get an update ?

I do know that Colors are done in batches and that I might get lucky and my car may be built earlier because of the Color shortage.
My 2nd choice is Red Candy, 3rd choice is likely Black. Definetely don't want any Blue since my last car was a `98 Navy Blue Formula that I ordered new aswell.

She has the holiday weekend off and won't be back until Tuesday per her post in another forum.

I believe scheduling is done on a Wednesday or Thursday mornings. I usually send her a PM the night before if I want an update.

Send Deysha the dealer number and order number and she will look it up for you. She's extremely helpful.

The commodities report from Ford said that they may run out of Kona Blue this week - but perhaps it will be next week instead? I'll check the report next week to see what updates Ford has on this topic.

Would Really suck if they brought Sunset Gold back ... The reason I have a 4.6 instead of a 5.0 is because I wanted Sunset Gold ...

Five Oh Brian, thanks for keeping everyone updated. I ordered my Lava red V6 last friday and no VIN or build date scheduled yet. Based on the convo, I'm guessing I need to look at a different color. My dealer is not responding to any of my questions, but let us know if Sterling Grey is coming back...I would be all over that!

Happy to help, and yes, Sterling Gray is coming back for sure on '12 Mustangs in the very near future.
