A/C Blowing Different Temps Between Driver/Passenger Sides

So my car just started having A/C problems at 105K. I know you guys on your 3rd A/C compressor are saying "lucky you!". The air coming out of the driver side is the same as the outside temp for a while, while the passenger is cold right away like it should be. After 10 mins or so of driving, it still cools off in the car but the driver side is still not as cold as the passenger.

I couldn't find anything on this forum about this issue, but looking broader across car forums, I found a few saying this problem is almost certainly a bad compressor. The service advisor at my Ford dealer said it may just be a blend door, but I've replaced 1 of those 3 on my car already and there's no clicking noise like you typically get when one of those goes bad.

Anybody else had this? Hoping it's not the $1,000 compressor job but preparing myself that it is.

A bad compressor would not have cold air anywhere. I vote for one of the blend doors.

A low refrigerant level may do this also. The passenger side is probably getting air from the colder area of the evaporator. Seems like the whole evap should be the same temp but it won't if it is low on refrigerant. Might not be your issue but a trip to the auto parts for a can of 134A is a pretty cheap way to check it. It comes with a hose and gauge. I would add about 1/2 a can or so and check the temp see if it gets any better.

Ding Ding Ding! You're the winner. I guess I should have thought about that before I took it to my dealer, but all the guys on here saying how unreliable the compressors are on our cars, so I thought that was it. Ended up being 8 oz. low and cost me $200 to get diagnosed + fixed. Lots better than a new compressor though.

Wasn't told that it was. First time the A/C has been touched in 5 years/106 miles though.
