Shelby GT500 with Shelby CS6 Hood?

Please vote and help me make up my mind.
i have the CS6 hood and other parts on order since 1.5 months, and should be taking delivery any time soon.

now i'm also considering retrofitting the GT500 front fascia along with the CS6 hood.

the Photoshopped version came out quite nicely and i'm pretty sold on the idea of mixing both.. what do you guys think?

Thanks AFBLUE and 93cobrastang for your help with photoshop.

the shelby front end with a cs6 hood would look absolutely incredible I think it is an awesome idea and you should totally do it. When you do send me a ton of pictures because i'm currently trying to decide between doing that and modding the car myself or buying a shelby gt so need tons of pics to see the differences

I debated over this issue myself. I really like the CS6 hood, but ultimately I wanted the hood lines to match up with the angled posts inside of each headlight so I went with the GT500 hood. You can't go wrong with either. Another plus to the GT500 hood is it is metal and there will be absolutely no fit issues. The only downfall to the GT500 hood is the price for the plastic vents. I paid $243.00 each!!!!!!!! Even though I have the Shelby hood and recommend it, I think I'm going to vote for the CS6 just because I want to see some variety and I'd love to see it on your car in Tungsten!!!!!!!!

By the way Louie, I didn't forget about you. I'm still going to get you a parts/price list so you can complete your order.

how heavy is the metal GT500 hood compared to the fiberglass CS6 hood? i'd imagine that'd cost me more to ship, than all the parts i need put together

you know what got me to start this thread/poll?
my girlfriend said the GT500 hood looks more agressive and mean when i showed her both pics
had she said CS6, i wouldn't have even looked at the GT500 hood again!

In my opinion your girlfriend is right. I think the GT500 hood helps the front end to look more aggressive, but that doesn't mean the CS6 hood isn't cool as #$%^!!!!!!

Its the best of both the GT-H and GT500 worlds, go with the CS6 hood for sure! Now if only they made a bullitt grill that would fit with the GT500 bumper, then we would really have something here.

Shelby American called me confirming my CS6 hood, hood pins, hood grille, CS6 side scoops, and Strut Tower Bars will be here within a week or two.

i also placed an order for the full front/rear Shelby GT500 fascias totalling 46 parts through my local ford dealer, and i'm expecting delivery on those within a month or so..

i can't wait.. will keep you all posted!

Louie, I think the fiberglass hoods are heavier than the aluminum OEM hoods. I read in another thread that the California Dreamin' hood was considerably heavier in fiberglass than the OE hood.

well i pulled the trigger on the CS6 parts.
the hood, pins, hood grille, radiator cover, strut tower bar and side scoops all together weigh 100 pounds packed for shipping
of which 57 pounds are the CS6 hood alone.

the full shipment will cost me $1100 USD delivered here.

luckily though i managed to order the GT500 parts through my local dealer here, so i won't be wasting all that much on shipping

you got the radiator cover? did it really need the v6 grill like the website says or not? I got the pins which will need the radiator cover to be modded, but not the cover. are you using the pins still...?
