Where to fill steering box with grease?

no .. it is not servicable .. if it does not leak it will still have all the grease it originally came with .. that nut is to adjust the internal gear mesh .. it will tighten the steering up .. by that it will make it harder to steer .. not take out slack ...

It was petty quick take the plug out (not the one with the screw in in it) should be a 1/2 wrench then start shooting full of grease. Mine took 2 full mini tubes of grease. Much smoother steering with a little more "feel" behind it.

My brother, a long-time Ford guy, put me on to this trick years ago. The original lubricant that Ford filled the box with 40 years ago turns to clay over that time and causes all manner of steering woes. Almost all regular maintenance visits do not include this step so the problem gets significantly worse over time!
I've used this scheme on several Mustangs to improve steering. I give it 4-6 shots of grease, then turn the steering lock-to-lock several times; and repeat this until you feel some relief - then do it again. Sometimes it does take two tubes of grease! It also helps if you lift the front wheels off the deck.
