Thieves Drive Through Dealer Door to Steal GT350

Some Low-Life Thieves Could Learn a Thing or Two About a Clean Getaway From Gone In 60 Seconds

This is why we can’t have nice things. Two suspects are currently being sought by authorities in Union County, North Carolina. The charges: breaking and entering, and motor vehicle theft.

As you can sort of see in WSOCTV‘s blurry security camera footage, the thieves drive the black GT350 into the service area from the showroom at Crossroads Ford. And from there, things really go south. The picture above shows where the Mustang drove over a median, and into some objects. But that’s not the biggest problem to be encountered. Opening the service door becomes a real issue, so the Mustang sits inside while the thieves devise an exit strategy.

What do these thieves decide is the next-best option? Abandon their efforts? Try to flip a switch and give power to the door? Nope. They drive right through the thing.

After leaving the dealership, they must have had some sort of connection with reality. Local police would have had a cake walk spotting a brand new, damaged GT350. Ultimately, the thieves abandoned the car nearby. The poor execution of the theft and the abandonment of the car shortly thereafter make you wonder why they even bothered.

If you have any information leading to the identity of the two suspects in the video, Union County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at (704) 283-3789.
