Back in February, MotoIQ sent out a call for Mustang owners without giving them a lot of detail. Now we know the normal Mustang was used as a control against Moto’s aftermarket Mustang. You probably won’t be surprised to find out the custom car is faster. You might be surprised to learn how much faster it is.

All of the parts installed on the Motovicity Ticket to Ride Mustang were all bolt on, so anyone who wants to build a similar car can just purchase the same parts used on the Mustang 5.0 G that SpeedForSale Motorsports did. Nothing was modified that couldn’t be put back to stock or be installed by a backyard wrench.

Installed parts include KW Suspension Variant V3s, Whiteline suspension components including the Watts Link Kit, Stoptech brake kit, Yokohama tires, BBK Shorty Headers, and Blackout Cold Air Intake. Again, all bolt on and available from your Motovicity Dealer.

Stopping the stock Convertible 5.0 GT was an interesting display of front dive. Mike Kojima, who wrote the article, mentioned that the rear tires looked like they were about to leave the ground as it screeched to 110 feet. With the new parts, the stopping distance and drama were reduced to a more sports car like 106 feet. The stock 5.0 was able to accelerate the ‘vert to a 5.03 but the TTR car was far faster with a 0-60 of 4.73 seconds!

With a stock suspension and tires, skidpad numbers were depressing at .79 G. After adjustments, the TTR Mustang drove the skidpad at .86 G.

They then turned Irwindale Speedway into a small “roval” course with fast and slow corners with a small front straight. In stock trim, the Convertible Mustang only turned in a 33.61 second lap time. With the bolt-ons, the TTR Mustang retuned an impressive improvement with a lap time of 32.64 seconds.
