Mustang Wins Pony Car Sales Battle in March

According to a Torque news report, the S197 now ranks as the top selling American muscle car when it comes to 2014 sales.  For the second month in a row, the current gen Mustang has beat out the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger.

That’s quite the contrast from what most probably expected in revving up for the rollout of the highly anticipated s550.  But maybe it’s just another sign of how popular the current model has been.

Ford sold 9,305 Mustangs in March, an increase from 21 percent from the same month last year, pushing it to the top spot for muscle cars when it comes to 2014 annual sales to date.

Chevrolet sold 681 less units of the Ford pony car in March.  The Challenger was a distant third with 4,882 models sold.
