Mustang Wheelies Whole Drag Strip, Still Wins

This New Edge Drag Car’s Got Four Perfectly Good Wheels. But Only Two Are Apparently Necessary Here

Just about any drag racer has their secret recipe for winning a race. Tire settings, temperature adjustments — you name it, and it’s probably been done. But what about turning your car into a wheelie machine and keeping the nose in the air over the duration of the race? Probably not in the drag-racer’s handbook. However, that was exactly what happened to JR Pines in his New Edge Mustang at a local track in Georgia.

Even more impressive, Pines manages to win the race! Had he kept the damn thing on all fours, the final gap would have been even larger. But, that wasn’t necessary, as Pines still took down a rather-quick Fox Body without much effort at all. To be fair, the wheels did touch down once or twice. But still, the absolute majority of the race was won on the car’s hind legs. Wheelies and all, this may be the best example of “no lift” that we have seen in a long time.
