Plans for the Mustang’s 50th year bash are starting to come together and it’s so big that organizers have locked down two major spots across the country for the party.

How’s that for rolling in your 50th birthday?

From April 16 through April 20, Ford Motor Co. and the Mustang Club of American will team up to hold events at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. and at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in ‘Vegas.

“Mustang owners are among the most passionate fans in the world,” said Steven Ling, Ford car marketing manager.  “These twin events are really for them.  We’re proud to be part of this celebration of a car that’s often called the soul of Ford Motor Co.”

The festivities, officially called the Mustang 50th Anniversary Celebration, will include a range of events such as live bands, ride-and-drives and open-track exhibitions.  Each of the parties will also feature examples of the first 50 model years of the Mustang from 1964 up to the current generation.

“Whether you love modern or vintage Mustangs, Shelby or Boss, racing or cruising, a new fan or having been enjoying the lifestyle for years, we’ll have something memorable for everyone at both locations,” said Ronald D. Bramlett, Mustang Club of America executive director of the Mustang celebration.

The Mustang Club of America will also organize Mustang caravans so owners can pony up in groups to drive to the events.

Even better, you don’t even have to own a Mustang to attend the events so anyone who just has an appreciation for the car can join in the party.
