Saleen Returns to its Mustang Roots

Time flies when you’re flying down the road, so speed aficionados might find it hard to believe that it’s been 35 years since Steve Saleen founded his famed high-performance automotive company in Corona, California. This year, Saleen is back with the debut of a signature line of Saleen 302s that are setting new standards for incredible looks and premium performance —at a deliciously affordable price level. The company is now offering offers a White, Yellow, and Black label version of the Mustang, and two versions of the 30th Anniversary Saleen Mustang —the build’s heart-thumping track version.

Flash the Badge

The 30th Anniversary Saleen Mustang comes complete with the Saleen’s recognizable yellow and white paint schematics and white wheels and features a variety of sharp Saleen graphics and anniversary badging. The vehicle even doffs graphics for General Tire and its Monroe shock absorbers. A specialized roll-cage, racing-style seatbelts, and a heavy-duty radiator all add the car’s track-loving personality.

730-HP of Pulse Pounding Power

The latest edition of Saleen signature performance coupes are powered by a blistering 3.2-liter liquid-cooled supercharger, which pumps the Mustang's V8 up to 730-horsepower for the street-legal build, and up to 750-horsepower for the track version. The newest Saleen track stars also come with a newly redesigned exhaust system, along with a competition shifter and adjustable camber plates for the front struts, all elements designed to help foster race-worthy suspension performance.

Pure Racer Inside & Out

Saleen embroidered headrests are just the beginning of the car's sleek, savvy, track-inspired interior. In addition to sharp Saleen white-face gauges, the cars featured a leather-wrapped telescoping steering-wheel with Saleen badging. If you've found Saleen anniversary builds to be scarce, that's because they are. Only ten of the anniversary cars are built every five years with the black-white-yellow design, and the 35th-anniversary model will be no exception. It's no surprise collectors and racing hobbyists alike are scurrying to get their hands on Saleen's latest Mustang tune-up, as it may be the brand's most impressive foray into Mustang builds yet, a feat that, given their illustrious track record, is nothing to take for granted.

Power comes with a price and a warranty

If you'd like to get your hands on your very own Saleen you can do so through nearly all Ford dealerships. You'll get your factory racer complete with Ford financing and the very same warranty that anyone would get when purchasing a normal GT Mustang. The car you've been eyeballing has a configuration that goes for $87,000. What...you gotta pay to play, right?
