Classic Transformation

A legendary 1967 Ford Mustang has undergone a dramatic transformation at the hands of Classic Recreations. The two-year project has turned this classic into a high-performance masterpiece with cutting-edge technology while staying true to its roots. Central to this build is the GT500CR 545 package, which gives the car a robust Ford Racing 427ci V8 engine. The modernized pony car now boasts 545 horsepower, delivered by a Holley fuel injection system and BBK headers, a key feature that makes this build truly stand out.

Carbon Fiber Masterpiece

Listed for auction with no reserve on Bring a Trailer, this Mustang is no ordinary restomod. Classic Recreations replaced its original body with carbon fiber, crafted by the renowned SpeedKore Performance. The lightweight material not only enhances performance but also ensures durability and precision.

Rolling Stock

The car’s exterior is finished in Pepper Gray, accentuated by exposed carbon fiber center stripes, providing a sleek yet aggressive appearance. Complementing this design are Halibrand-style 18-inch wheels with a wide stance, measuring 8 inches at the front and 11 inches at the rear, wrapped in 245/35 and 315/30 tires respectively.

Modernized Enhancements

Beneath the car’s sleek carbon fiber body lies a suite of performance enhancements. The Mustang features a custom suspension setup, including a Mustang II front end, adjustable coilovers, and upgraded sway bars for improved handling.

Keeping It Steady

Subframe connectors add rigidity, while the rear end is equipped with a 9-inch Fab 9 housing, Traction-Lok differential, and 3.70 gears. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood brakes, with slotted and cross-drilled rotors ensuring top-tier braking performance.

Interior Overhaul

Inside, the Mustang has been treated to a complete interior upgrade. SCAT Rally Series 1000 seats with five-point harnesses ensure the driver and passenger remain secure. The dash and door panels have been refinished with Deluxe components, adding to the overall premium feel. Air conditioning from Old Air Products keeps the cabin cool, and an Alpine CD player paired with a Focal sound system, including a D-class amplifier and subwoofer, offers high-quality audio for cruising.

Precision Performance

The heart of this restomod is the Ford Racing 427ci V8 engine, which produces an impressive 545 horsepower. Paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, it offers a thrilling driving experience. Additionally, a Be Cool radiator, Optima battery, and side-exit MagnaFlow exhaust system enhance the Mustang’s overall performance. Only 673 miles have been driven since its completion in 2021. With 3 days left on the Bring a Trailer auction, the current bid sits at $217K as of this writing.
