Back in Black

Australia knows a little something about fast cars and hooning.  If you haven’t noticed that yet then you must have slept through the 1980s and missed everything right from the original Mad Max trilogy. What I mean about that is the plethora os gasoline hungry muscle cars marauding through the barren Outback.  Now Ford has gone down under for some white-knuckle flair for the 2020 Mustang GT. Ford Australia has announced the Black Shadow Pack, a trim option for Aussie 2020 Mustang GT owners.

Shadows in the Land Down Under

Ford Australia saw fit to add a touch of black in just the right places. The Black Shadow Pack, which is currently only available for fastback body style Mustangs in the Land Down Under adds black stripes on the hood and sides of the car and a black roof.  The classic chrome pony is replaced by a blacked-out dark horse grille badge as well as dark 5.0 lettering and some serious black 19-inch wheels.

Touch of Black

Where there are black accents on the cars, unfortunately, there’s no black on black available as a choice.  However, current color options for the car include some new twists.  Ford Australia has unveiled four new paint choices for their 2020 pony cars.  Aussie’s that love green can opt for Grabber Lime.  Drivers looking for something fast and shiny might go for Iconic Silver while Mustang buyers into warm colors can select Red Hot or Twister Orange.  You can always add a little more black.  If the hood stripes, roof, and side stripes just aren’t enough, drivers can throw in for a High-Rise spoilerpainted black of course.

Red Hot Technology

Look out honey, 'cause I’m using technology.  One of the advantages of buying a new sportscar is the integrated technology that comes packaged along with it.  The 2020 Mustang GT offers a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel so you can switch through awesome driving songs easier.  The car comes standard with a six-speaker sound system, including AM/FM radio with an optional SiriusXM Radio upgrade and SYNC® because having options is a good thing.  Buyers can even opt up to the SYNC3® interface for additional features if you want to.

Track your Performance

Track your performance. Have you ever wondered just how fast your car will go?  Mustang is now offering Track Apps.  Track Appsprovide performance metrics in the car’s instrument cluster including an accelerometer that shows drivers lateral and longitudinal g-forces as well as lap times and acceleration metrics.  2020 Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission can use Track Apps™ electronic line-lock feature. This nifty trick locks the front brakes while the car is put in gear to heat up the tires, eliminating the need to have both feet on the pedals to burn rubber.  With so much technology, the car might be able to drive itself.  Well, not exactly but the 2020 Mustang GT does feature lane sensing technology just in case your hands slip off the wheel.
