A 4.6L Terminator Mustang Wearing a 1969 Suit
Instead of starting from the ground up with a fully custom vehicle, one builder decided to approach the restomod project by fitting a classic Mustang body onto a 2003 SVT Cobra platform.
Cobra Underneath
The gorgeous dark metallic grey Mustang you see featured in the photos above may not look like anything but a beautifully restored and modified 1969 pony car. But in reality, it's a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra that wears a '69 Mustang shell. It's practically impossible for passers-by to discover this car's true nature from the outside, which is a testament to the quality of the build.

Auctioned
The only way to uncover this restomod's true nature would be to look beneath the surface, peeking into the interior and popping the hood. The re-skinned Terminator was recently listed on the UK-based auction site The Market, and it sold for a sum of £55,500, which equates to about $75,000 with current exchange rates.
Supercharged Terminator
The high-performance Mustang's well-known 4.6-liter V8 is capable of 390 horsepower from the factory. Through the process of this build, however, a number of power-adding modifications have been worked into the motor, including a 2.6L Kenne Bell supercharger. All told, the upgrades bring the car's power output to a gnarly 688 horses.
Capable Drivetrain
The power is directed down via a T-56 six-speed manual transmission, and then onto an 8.8-inch rear end with 3.55 gears, before making its way down to the rear wheels. Speaking of the wheels, the set of 18x9 Mogul Racing MR-7 alloy wheels are wrapped in sticky 285/35ZR18 Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 tires.
2003 Mustang Interior
The cabin of the 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra remains largely unchanged from the factory. That is, of course, with the exception of a boost gauge, which is a bi-product of adding in the supercharger.
Exterior Modifications
The beautiful exterior features a Subaru dark metallic grey paint that is accented by lighter color markings on the body sides. The gunmetal grey wheels add to the charismatic appearance, as well. The custom chin spoiler, dual hood scoops, and rear wing add subtle but effective touches of sportiness to match the Mustang's hidden power.
