2019 Gulf Heritage Mustang is Ford vs Ferrari Tie-in
Brown Lee Ford offers race performance Mustangs with factory warranties.
Fast and Iconic
In 1968 and 1969 respectively, a Gulf Livery GT 40 won victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the race dubbed the Grand Prix of Endurance. To honor fifty years of Ford racing, Brown Lee Ford of Morrison, Tennessee has produced a limited edition run of officially licensed Gulf Heritage Mustangs. On November 15, Ford v Ferrari opened nationwide and the story of Ford Motor Co’s quest to defeat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans was told to a new generation.

Golden Anniversary
Brown Lee Ford has produced a limited run of just 119 Gulf Heritage Mustangs. The cars are officially licensed by Gulf Oil and feature the iconic Gulf Livery paint scheme that decorated the famous GT 40. “The Gulf Heritage Inspiration piece is based on the Le Mans GT,” Explained Brock Patterson, the National Specialty Vehicle Sales Director for Brown Lee Ford remarked. “Gulf Oil knew about Brown Lee Performance and approached us about doing an officially licensed car. We were thrilled about it. We decided to do a run of 119 cars. We combined 69, because of the 1969 win at Le Mans with 50 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the race and that’s how we came up with 119,” Patterson said.
Too Damn Fast
The Gulf Heritage Mustang features an 808 horsepower 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a Whipple supercharger bolted on. The car has 670-pound foot of torque and can run from 0 to 60mph in a neck-snapping 3.3 seconds. If the Gulf Heritage Mustang is out of your price range, Brown Lee Ford has a host of other high-performance Ford pony cars available including a 2019 Ford Mustang GT Premium Roush Stage 2 in Race Red. When asked about the car’s speed, Brock Patterson, the National Specialty Vehicle Sales Director for Brown Lee Ford said, “it’s vision blurring.”
High Performance
As I'm sure you've surmised by now is that Brown Lee Ford isn’t just a dealership—it’s one with an in-house speed shop. Brown Lee Ford and Brown Lee Performance offer customers the unique experience of upgrading their vehicles with racing enhancements without voiding the vehicle’s warranty. All of the officially licensed Gulf Heritage Mustangs come with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty and are available in either 2019 or 2010 models. Patterson explained that one of the owners of Brown Lee Ford saw a future for car enthusiasts to own performance modified cars and trucks with full warranties and the ability to finance their purchases. “David Lee, one of the owners was really a pioneer. He saw an opportunity for people to own high-performance vehicles and finance them and have the peace of mind that comes with having a warranty,” Patterson said.
Go-Fast Division
Brown Lee Performance will be offering high-performance Mustangs starting at just $39,995. Roush Supercharged GT packages will start at the base range of $40,000 and customers can continue to upgrade their vehicles at Brown Lee Performance. The vehicles can be financed through Ford Motor Credit and come with a full warranty. Roush Supercharged GT Mustangs will be available in Twisted Orange Tri-Coat, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Velocity Blue, Grabber Lime, Shadow Black, Magnetic, Iconic Silver, Kona Blue, Race Red, and Oxford White.
See the movie and then buy the Mustang
It takes a lot to slow down 808 racing horses. The Gulf Heritage Mustang comes equipped with Gulf Orange Brembo 6-piston calipers with 15.1-inch rotors for the front brakes and Gulf Orange Brembo 4-piston calipers with 15.1-inch rotors for the rear. The Gulf Orange calipers stand out against the car’s beefy 20-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss gunmetal.
A part of Ford history
Owners receive an official letter of authenticity from Gulf Oil and Brown Lee Performance and there is also a badge for the car. Collectors will revel in the glory of knowing that each car is numbered and part of a unique livery of special-edition Mustangs. Brock Patterson explained that Brown Lee Ford and Gulf Oil are extremely proud of their partnership and the history of Ford racing and the theatrical film hitting the silver screen. “That film comes out on November 15 and it really couldn’t have come at a better time for us. We have some appearances set up with different movie theaters around the Nashville area. We’re going to take some of the cars out there and let people take a look at them,” Patterson said. With its iconic design and jaw-dropping performance, The Gulf Heritage Mustang will certainly be the center of attention. The cars are available as coupes and convertibles and are offered for sale both domestically and internationally for a list price of $139,995.
